Celebrate What’s Working
As a CPA and financial strategist, my world often revolves around numbers, forecasts, and measurable results. But sometimes what moves us forward isn’t a spreadsheet, it’s a pause. A moment of reflection. A celebration.
For three months in a row, an intuitive coach I work with gently reminded me:
“Carol, it would be good for you to gather a group of girlfriends and celebrate your wins. When you celebrate, life gives you more to celebrate.”
Three months. The same message. I finally listened.
I gathered a few close friends, and we began meeting regularly to share our successes, big or small. No spreadsheets. No metrics. Just real stories, honest reflection, and supportive connection.
One friend loved it so much she began keeping a journal at her desk, jotting down her wins in real time. She could hardly wait for our next gathering to share them.
As for me, I did what I do best: I started tracking. I printed a blank calendar and challenged myself to find one thing to celebrate each day. That didn’t last long. Sometimes, I make things more complicated than they need to be.
What I found was something even better. I shifted to a monthly practice, writing out my celebrations just before a session with my coach. That process became a powerful rudder, pointing my thoughts and energy in the right direction. Those sessions became more focused, more grounded, and surprisingly more productive. It’s amazing what happens when you organize your mind in your own favor.
Eventually, I began copying my monthly celebration lists into a book. Over time, it’s becoming a highlight reel of my life, a record of resilience, and a testament to growth.
What surprised me most was how personal our celebrations became. Yes, we talked about business wins, new clients, revenue milestones, smoother systems, but just as often, we shared breakthroughs like:
“I saw clearly that I was stuck in a victim cycle, and snapped out of it.”
“15 days of rebounding in a row.”
“A sweet visit with my son. Good talks. Feeling close and grateful.”
“Learning to connect with and cultivate a sense of true relaxation.”
There were entries about boundaries, creative expression, and physical healing, moments of joy, moments of clarity, and moments that felt like flow.
This is what we’re logging. When we look back, we don’t just see events, we see momentum. We see evidence that life is building on itself, that we are becoming.
And yes, this practice can be just as powerful in your business.
Whether you’re tracking metrics or moods, breakthroughs or bookings, pausing to celebrate is more than just a feel-good ritual; it’s an energetic recalibration. It aligns you with the progress you are making, even if the finish line feels far away.
It’s your personal proof that things are stacking up.
That it’s working.
That you are working.
And that’s worth celebrating.
Comment and let me know what you are celebrating! I would love to know.
